Why Breast Milk?
Breast Milk is full of anti-biotics formula doesn't have.
It's super food for your baby! It will make you drop your weight faster
than Charlie Sheen drops his girlfriends! It feels great - after they take
that first bite out of the apple! OWWWW! and then it's really a blissful
state. It's portable milk you never have to heat up and when else in your life
will you be able to say, "I'm dinner!" It's relaxing and great fun to do
while taking a bath with your baby. It's good for the environment and good for
you. If you live in Los Angeles - think of it as saving money on food and
getting a free boob job all at the same time! You go from an A cup to a D
cup and you stay that way for as long as you breast feed. Just think about it
... Big busty Boobies without having to go under the knife! Yippie!
And it's more fun than you can imagine when you realize you are a walking milk
fountain. Get a couple of mother's together and while the men have a
pissing contest, you can having a milking contest - see who can spray the
farthest! My record is five feet.
Healthy Diet for Nursing Mothers -
Start off eating carbs ...WHAT DID SHE SAY??????????
That's right! If you try and loose weight right after you give birth by
going lowfat - your body will think you are starving and so it will tell your
body to STORE FAT! STORE FAT! So give your body some healthy carbs - a
bowl of pasta - and your body will say - Carbs? Oh Yeah! BURN FAT!
BURN FAT! AND GIVE IT TO THE BABY! And then miraculously out of your
breasts will fly 500 calories a day. Yes, it's a true fact, ladies. Breast
feeding will help you burn that fat right off your tooch - but you have to help
them out a little with a healthy diet. SOOOOOO ... eat nuts, fruits, light
veggies - spinach, carrots, baby greens, arugula, potatoes ... stay away from,
asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower and artichokes, heavy garlic, beans and heavily
spiced food. They give the baby gas and they can make them quite upset
sometimes.
Fruits are great, and especially in smoothies with protein powder. This is a
great time to go visit JAMBA JUICE and make it your best friend. Be sure
to take your calcium and continue your pre-natal vitamins. I don't recommend
taking the doctor prescribed prenatal vitamins. They are too strong and toxic.
The one's at whole foods and the one's sold at Trader Joe's are much better in
my opinion and they don't make you as nauseated. As with any prenatal vitamin
though - make sure you take them AFTER you have eaten something!
Donating to the Milk Bank
If you happen to have a heavy let down - this doesn't mean
that you get your feelings hurt easily or that you get screwed over frequently.
It means that you have sooooo much milk in your breasts that the milk comes out
soooo fast it nearly drowns your child. If your baby is coughing a lot
when you feed him/her or is gagging or choking - or spitting up a lot - you
probably have a heavy let down. In this case - the good news is you have a lot
of milk! What to do???? Start pumping, save up and give it to the
milk bank. They need your extra milk! They give it to premature babies and it
really does help save their lives! I bet you never thought you could be a
super hero with your breasts! Just think of yourself as Breast Woman! And
call the Milk Bank today to get an application and become a donor.

Don't worry - You don't have to go to San Jose They actually come
to your house and pick up your milk - Even in Los Angeles!
At what age should a mother start feeding a baby solid foods?
Anywhere from 4 months old to 8 months old. It's a debate
and up to you. If your baby is thriving on your breast milk and gaining
good weight and is healthy why mess with it. But when his teeth start coming in,
it's good to introduce your baby to things they can bite their new little teeth
into - because it can't be too much fun when it's your nipple. One woman in yoga
class mentioned putting a baby on a raw food diet. To this
Gurmukh
- who I have a hell of a lot of respect for replied - "Not a good idea."
So don't run out and feed your 4 month old baby a raw egg. Not unless you'd like
to then rush him or her to the emergency room when they get a bad case of
salmonella poisoning. Remember that your baby is not a guinea pig and even
guinea pigs wish they weren't guinea pigs.
